Grand Canyon

Raymond fought with himself overnight on March 4 and after missing hours of sleep, he told me in the morning that he had had enough sun and that we should move on. So we packed up on Wednesday morning and continued onto Williams AZ. We were at 575 feet above sea level at Lake Havasu City and we climbed all the way to 7000 feet and lo and behold, we have snow on the side of the road. We camped at a KOA park just out of Williams as the washing had to be done and we have internet connection. On March 2 our Star Choice satellite gave up the ghost and the only thing we can connect to is the Knowledge channel. We phoned Star Choice but they said they could not help us as we had not joined the “Away From Home” program. We had to call Star Choice again and go to a different department in order to get a fax number for them. On March 3 we went to Staples and faxed the registration for our trailer to Star Choice so we could be included on the required program. It is now March 6 and we have no satellite but for the one channel. This sucks! We didn’t call Star Choice again as it costs a lot of money to phone and we have racked up a large bill with the owner of the cel phone (thanks Kevin). As a result of no TV service, we may be home sooner that we planned.

Today we drove to the Grand Canyon south rim and spent the day doing the tourist thing. Raymond asked me what I thought of the Canyon and to be honest, I expected something that would take my breath away. I was a bit disappointed but the Grand Canyon is OK. Enough said! (Bryce Canyon wins hands down as far as I am concerned) Oh right, enough said!

  • Cathy,

You are right, Bryce Canyon does outshine the Grand Canyon. Did you walk around the new tourist attraction that hangs over the canyon? Don't think I could do that. I don't do well in glass elevators either.

    See you soon.
