20 Jan 08

Hi from the Tim Kortsen West Pinal Park (south of Phoenix)

We have been camping in this BLM campground for almost a week. Last Tuesday we had a notice left on our picnic table that campers were only to stay for 72 hours. We talked with others in the campground and one fellow (Michael) said they had been there a week already and no one said anything. He and his wife left after a ten-day stay. We will be moving on Monday – going to Tucson. Hopefully the camp host will leave us alone today.

Last Monday we got in touch with our neighbours from home – Don and Bev - who are visiting their son Stewart in Phoenix. They came out to the trailer last Monday for a visit and then we traveled to the place they are renting in Phoenix on Tuesday. We spent the day shopping and even went to the Olive Garden for lunch. Bev prepared a delicious supper of ribs and veggies and we stayed the night.

We both had showers this morning and then it was time to bath Molly. About half way through her bath we ran out of water. We will now have to go find some water for the trailer. Oh the joys of camping!
The weather has been fantastic. The desert is very cold at night – about 0°C. The afternoons have been very warm – at least 20°C. We have our shorts on all afternoon but back into long pants by 6pm
