Emma report by John

I got a reminder today at church that an Emma Report has not gone out in awhile.
Emma is doing well though fatigue is always an issue for her. She continues to give herself her injections 3 times a week. She still gets the chills then fever after her injection. Basically every second day is usually a good day, except for after the 3rd injection of the week when she gets an extra day of rest before giving herself her first injection of the week. The injection schedule has been Monday, Wednesday, Friday so far.
This week she will change the schedule to Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday. The change is so that Emma can be at her best when we go dog showing next Saturday and Sunday. It's the second last dog show of the year for us, and we are really hoping that the extra work we are doing with Piper will allow her to get the last three points she needs to get her Canadian Championship.

Moving day

Moving day is coming up fast ( Nov 1 )
The house in Calgary is sold and possession is on 5 Dec,
So we have 4 weeks to move out and into our new place.

On Nov 1 we will take the travel trailer to the acreage and a load
in the truck, we have the walk through at noon.

On Nov 2 I will get a enclosed trailer and start moving the boxes we have
packed.

We have got the power, gas and phone done, just got to do the TV and internet.

Moving

Hi! Well a lot can happen in a week.
We bought an acreage, put our house up for sale and yesterday we sold our house.
Possession on the acreage is Nov 1 and so we travel to Carstairs tomorrow to meet with the lawyer and sign all of the papers.
Possession date for our house is Dec 5 but we hope to be completely moved around the middle of Nov.
We couldn't believe the housing market in Calgary. We had originally put our house up last Thursday and within 11 and a half hours of getting an MLS#, we had our first offer. This didn't pan out so the house went back as active on Saturday. We sold it Sunday. A three-day turnaround. Quite surprising.
We will leave the snow blower with the next door neighbour and he will keep the sidewalk clear until the new people come. We were going to take our swing that hangs under the deck, but the new owners asked for it, so we will leave it behind. Raymond will just have to make us a new one.

Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about abattle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between two"wolves" inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, falsepride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather:"Which wolf wins?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Sad news...
With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.
Larry LaPrise, the man that wrote "The Hokey Pokey" died peacefully at the age of 93.
The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in. And then the trouble started.
OK- c'mon- LAUGH. You know it's funny

Emma, John's report

Emma gave herself her first interferon injection last night. It was not easy for her, but she got through it after a few attempts and a few tears.
She had a rough night with major chills which even an electric blanket set to maximum couldn't help. The chills were followed by fever that kept her warm enought that the electric blanket had to go.

Update on Emma, by John

It's holiday Monday and the day Emma returns to cancer treatment.
Last Friday we picked up her preloaded needles and tonight we start her regiment of 3 self injections per week. It's half the dose she got via IV and the side effects are suppose to be a lot less of a problem. Time will tell.

Here we are another season over...
As much as I love the fall, the leaves, cooler days, evenings that you definitely enjoy a campfire, and the whole smell of fall, it is always a little sad to think the days before we pack the rig away are limited.
For those of you that are able to camp all year round, I am feeling a bit of the green eyed bug creeping in!!!
Have a great weekend all,

Get out if you want Sharia law, Australia tells Muslims.........
CANBERRA: Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to Australia at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown.
Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that Australia was a secular state and its laws were made by parliament. "If those are not your values, if you want a country which has Sharia law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you," he said on national television. "I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia, one the Australian law and another the Islamic law, that that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Sharia law and have the opportunity to go to another country which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option," Costello said.
Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country.
Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off". "Basically, people who don't want to be Australians, and they don't want to live by Australian values and understand them, well then they can basically clear off," he said.
Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spies monitoring the nation's mosques.

AMERICA.....ARE YOU LISTENING?

How about Canada giving a listen as well
